Today's Gameplay Point:


Beware his BITE attack. This GPP is a lot longer compared to previous ones. There's a lot you have to do in Twoson. Once you give Apple Kid your money, and talked with Paula's parents, engage Everdred to find out about Paula. Once you defeat him, your objective will be to to play through Peaceful Rest Valley, and then save at Happy Happy Village.


Today's Challenges:


  • Invest in Orange Kid.
  • Stay "Mashroomized" through the whole GPP.
  • Collect 10 toothbrushes.
  • Earn $1000 in five minutes (NO SELLING ANY KIND OF POULTRY!).


Mother 2 Factoids:


I think we're still in mushroom country...with the iron squids and all. One change in EarthBound is the Squid-Pencil statue change. You can find this change in your player's guide (page 44 for example), or old Nintendo Powers that review EarthBound. Essentially, Octopus, was replaced with Pencil. For example, in Mother 2, Apple Kid tells you not to use the "Octopus Erasing Machine" near a shop that sells octopi (or statues thereof). There's not really much more to try to explain since the whole thing doesn't make sense. :)

Gameplay Hints/Tips:


Easy Money There's a lot of tricks and neat things you can do to make your journey from Twoson to Happy Happy Village a lot easier. First of all, as you can see from the screenshot, hit up the guy at the Hotel for the cash. Actually you'll have to do it several times, but it's an easy $50.

Second, if you find yourself "Mashroomized", just flip the controller around until it suits a favorable direction so you can go and get yourself healed. Don't do this if you're doing the challenge though. It'll take the fun out of it. :)

Finally, if you have a Teddy Bear, taking it to a Hotel, or other recovery place with you, will heal it's HP as well as yours. Really!
