Today's Gameplay Point:


This is quite the mystery... Time for the final task in Happy Happy Village. This task is of course the Mondo Mole at Lilliput steps. Now you technically don't have to fight this thing right now, but that's what this GPP is going to consist of. Once you defeat the Mondo Mole, and move on back to Twoson, talk with Paula's parents and Everdred of course. Help out the Runaway Five, and save your game as soon as you get to Threed.


Today's Challenges:


  • Can you win a Teddy Bear from the Mighty Bear?
  • Keep Paula alive for the entire GPP.
  • Keep Paula's Teddy Bear "alive".
  • Don't use Paralysis on the Mondo Mole.


Mother 2 Factoids:


Universal Studios would have a cow over this...maybe. One relatively large difference between Mother 2 and EB, is the Tonzura Brothers/Runaway Five. Tonzura essentially means "escape", or in this case "Runaway". So, it should really be the Runaway Brothers. If you're not much of a movie goer (like myself), this is a pretty direct reference to the Blues Brothers. Also notice how all their costumes are black instead of different colors. This was probably because Nintendo wanted to avoid copyright issues again. Despite that, this basically explains the eerie 6th member Runaway Five, since "Five" is really supposed to be "Brothers".

Gameplay Hints/Tips:


Effective, but very cheap. When you enter the Lilliput Steps Cave, you're going to want to find the Great Charm. This will increase both Luck and Defense. You may want to give it to Paula due to her current weakness. If you happen to encounter Mighty Bears, the best way to defeat them is with PSI Freeze, and a bash with a Ness's bat. Finally, when you reach the Mondo Mole, and want to defeat him easily (and cheaply), simply use Paralysis on him. If you don't do this however, he is easily one of the hardest bosses in the game.
