EarthBound Funktastic Gameplay

EBFGP Index:

EB Quote:

"Like a great tapestry, vertical and horizontal threads have met and become intertwined, creating a huge, beautiful image." - Tea Time

Today's Gameplay Point:

The most normal character in EarthBound This is one of the biggest GPPs, so brace yourself. You should be in Winters, or Onett and ready to find the Shyness Book. Now that the Tenda's are social butterflies, you'll be able to get into the Lumine Hole and get the 7th melody. But that's not all! Continue through the Lost Underworld to Fire Springs, so you can get the final melody and head into Magicant. Once you're in Magicant, save your game.

Today's Challenges:

  • Collect all items in Lumine Hall.
  • I'll keep saying "NO BOTTLE ROCKETS" till the cows come home.
  • Continue to use the Casey bat. But if you get something cool like the Gutsy Bat, use that instead. You deserve it!
  • Get the ellusive Broken Antenna.
  • Remember! A challenge is going to be to defeat Giygas at Lv. 60 or lower.

Mother 2 Factoids:

You Win/Won!

Yeah I have to resort to random changes again. As you can see, the victory battle screen has been changed with more proper grammar I guess. And also, the second naming screen is different in Mother 2. What it does in Mother 2, is it takes your name (the one in English), and tries to convert it into a Japanese equivalent. Go here for more info.

Thanks to Tomato for providing this Mother 2 information! Visit his Mother 2 to EarthBound and Back Again translation site for more Mother 2 to EB comparisons!

Gameplay Hints/Tips:

I just realized that I FORGOT the FRANKLIN BADGE! Don't make the same mistake! There's lots of powerful items to collect in today's GPP. Make sure you collect them all! This includes the Diadem of Kings, the Sea Pendant, Cloak of Kings, and various stat increasing capsules. As for the bosses, remember that Electro Spector has a Psychic Power shield equipped. So you might just want to use Jeff's Bottle Rockets. Also remember that Diamond Dog as a normal Power Shield. So one multi-bottle rocket could come flying back into Jeff's face. Finally, before you get the last melody, give Ness all the best stuff. This includes the Sea Pendant (or Star if you got it), the Souvenir Coin, the Franklin Badge, and all the Magic Truffles and Brain Food Lunches. You might want to equip him with a less powerful braclet since the Goddess Bracelet can be found quickly in Magicant. Time to take the big dive into your own mind!
